Julie & Ken's Linden Place Wedding | Bristol, RI
Julie and Ken had a rainy but beautiful wedding at Linden Place in Bristol, Rhode Island. Linden Place was absolutely gorgeous. I was blown away walking onto the grounds and seeing all of the old buildings and statues. It's actually a museum by day! It was full of antique decor and knick knacks.
I was struggling with what we think were kidney stones the week before the wedding, so I called in my friend Natalie of NAC Photography to second shoot with me. I wound up being fine, but she was such a help!
It was a crazy rainy day and she was a trooper holding an umbrella over my head for family photos and getting the best second angles of all the action.
If you're ever thinking about adding a second photographer to your wedding package, I would definitely recommend it. It can really help the main photographer get everything done as efficiently as possible, and you get awesome alternate angles of all the best moments, like Julie and Ken's first look!
We started off the day next door at the Bradford-Dimond-Norris House where the ladies were getting ready.
Once everyone was dressed, we headed over to Linden Place for the first look!
Julie and Ken are so freaking adorable. They were so sweet and you could just feel the love around them.
They were all smiles the whole day!
Julie's two nieces were the flower girls and their dad was the officiant. I just loved this shot of the Sophie going to meet Brian.
I loved these holographic sunglasses. So fun!
Ken's son Colin was the best man and it was so sweet. Although, I believe they were in the middle of a tip toe contest to see who could look taller in this picture.
The groomsmen were all hilarious. I love getting fun group shots like this!
Right after we finished the wedding party portraits, the skies started opening up. Here Ken is taking a look at the ominous clouds.
After some deliberation, the decision was made the move the ceremony indoors. Julie was really hoping for an outdoor ceremony, but she was lucky that Linden Place has an excellent indoor building as a back-up!
The way they look at each other. Ugh, my heart!
Julie's brother-in-law Brian was the officiant, and he was also a ball buster. During the vows he made Julie repeat every line twice, just the mess with her.
Once the ceremony was over, we literally squeezed in the rest of the portraits under the back awning.
Then we headed back inside for a few more portraits in the greenhouse room with Julie and her dad and Ken.
All day I kept telling Julie that she looked like she had walked out of a bridal magazine. I think we can all agree I was right.
Once portraits were done, it was time to head back inside for the reception!
Julie and Ken had the best first dance. I felt like I couldn't take a bad picture of them because their love was radiating over the whole room.
Before we move on, I need to recognize this entrance with the cutest dab I've ever seen.
After the parent dances, we took a picture break for dinner and then snuck outside again because, miraculously, the sun had come out and there was a full rainbow!
Like, is this The Notebook? Dang!
What a sunset!
Then, it was officially time to tear up the dance floor! Bob Carpenter of Main Event Entertainment was so good! He kept the music flowing the whole night, playing the best sections of songs one after another so that there was never a lull. Even Natalie and I got our groove on while snapping photos!
Julie and Ken's wedding was so beautiful visually and emotionally. I'm so glad I was able to capture it!
