I'm about to echo a sentiment I've heard across photography Facebook groups the past few years: When did teenagers stop having awkward phases and turn into models?
Seriously, I'm not even ten years older than these kids and I didn't learn how to put on mascara until college.
It's time for my summer senior round-up and I've got a great group of kids here. Other than their good looks, they were all good people and were such great sports. No one batted an eye when I told them to repeatedly walk back and forth or look off into the distance like a dog waiting for it's owner to come home.
For those of you Belchertown High Students who haven't gotten your photos done yet, I still have a few weekday spots left before the September 28th deadline!
Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to book your 1-hour session with 2 outfits and 10 digital images for $200.
First up is Hailey. We took her senior pictures at Mount Pollux in Amherst. She was struggling with what to wear and brought a bunch of different options. I fell in love with her mustard dress because I have been wanting to photograph that color all year! It turned out they almost hadn't even bought that one but put it in their cart at the last minute. I think it was the perfect choice!
Next we have Corey, whose portrait shoot was at Cold Spring Country Club. We had the perfect golden hour sun for his shoot, making the greens and yellows pop against his blue button up. Guys, if you're going to wear a blue button up, I recommend going for a darker color with a subtle print like this. It helps balance out the light and adds a little bit more interest than a solid color.
Ben's senior portraits were one of my coolest sessions to date. He's training to be a pilot, so we headed over to the Northampton Airport for his shoot. He was such a nice kid and was a trooper despite the 90+ temps. I loved seeing what he was passionate about and incorporating that into the shoot!
If you ever have a specific location you want to shoot at, let me know! I love to try new spots!
We shot Evan's senior portraits at the classic Quabbin Reservoir. I love this spot in particular because it has a mix of the old building, little nooks, and plenty of greenery. It turns out Evan is a fashion maverick, so I had a fun time hearing about his designer duds. I love someone who isn't afraid to try new styles!
Olivia's portraits were also shot at Cold Spring Country Club. She was so cute, laughing through the entire shoot. I loved her mix of floral dresses with skater sneakers. I'm a big fan of fashion juxtaposition.
Also, can we talk about her hair? It was truly mesmerizing and had a life of it's own. I'm pretty sure she'd be able to pull off the hair magic in this Ariana Grande spoof.
Next up is Collin! We shot his portraits at Quabbin Reservoir as well. Collin is over six feet tall, so I definitely had to pull out my stool for this shoot. For these shots, I tried to angle him below me to counteract the height difference.
Last up is Riley! Her shoot was at Mount Pollux in Amherst. She kept telling me she was super awkward in front of the camera, but her nervous laughter wound up making for the cutest pictures! She had nothing to worry about.
Also, I was obsessed with her with romper and almost bought it myself after the shoot.
Thank you all for reading!
